![]() What you love about COH1 - Where did it excel (balance, commander design, campaign, etc.)ĬOH1 excels in the campaign all of it, the story it told was more deeply than the one i played on COH2, balance was awesome on COH1 until the PE and Brits came out.Ĥ. What could be improved on COH1 that COH2 did and did not deliverĭoctrines COH1 and Commanders in COH2, of those COH 2 doctrines were way better that commanders, but i think that each player could leave a signature style of gameplay if those guys were customizable (i know i really really liked that from COH Online) forward barracks in COH1 was way more better than the urban soviet commander of COH2ģ. The locked faction on team games, no more USF against USF or mixed factions games try to stay historical like COH1Ģ. Some mechanics are gone like the restriction to cap when u are losing the game so there is no reliance on call ins, sniper spam gameplay the less micro that u have to do with some units for medium level players (snipers with armor bonus), i loved the doctrines of COH1, COH2 in that aspect left me wanting so much potential wasted. What you loved about COH1 that COH2 didn't quite deliver onįirst both games are nice but are completly different en fundamental aspects Hi i play mainly 2 vs 2 and 1 vs 1, not a huge fan of comp stomp and from my perspective (2443 hours also been a tester in all phases of the entire game alpha included)ġ. Do you play mainly team games, competitive 1v1, competitively or casually, comp stomps, modded games, etc.?Īs always, please keep the conversation civil, on topic and the feedback of high quality so we can actually use your feedback in the future. We'd also love to hear what your favorite way to play either game is. Where possibly both COH1 or COH2 fell short - where in your opinion is the untapped potential?.What would you wnat to carry forward from COH2.If you could, what you would cut from COH2.What you love about COH2 - its best features (campaign, faction design, TrueSight, commanders, etc.), whatever you feel they may be.What you love about COH1 - Where did it excel (balance, commander design, campaign, etc.).What could be improved on COH1 that COH2 did and did not deliver. What you loved about COH1 that COH2 didn't quite deliver on.That being said, we want to get your opinion on: And although COH2 may have never lived up to the same level of greatness, it still has some pretty awesome elements and is a ton of fun to play. It doesn't get to be called the highest rated WWII RTS of all time for nothing. We all know COH1 was and is a great game. ![]() You will access these in-game through additional firefights.Would love to get your feedback on something. Per the instructions: "Copy Scenarios to Documents\Western Civilization Software\Conflict of Heroes - Awakening the Bear\Data\Scenarios (in the Documents Folder)" I.e. Partisans.scenario"Īre these scenarios Alternate versions of the vanilla scenarios and should they come up i game under "additional firefights" or under the tab for the expansion ,not too versed in the game yet ,for example "Storm of Steel Scenarios"? Whereas in your download they are called "ATB1. In these sub folders Scenarios have like "1. It seems these particular sub folders have very similar files in them. Reason I ask is I have Steam Version with both expansions AND there is 3 sub folders inside Scenario Folder called AwakeningTheBear and GhostDivisions and StormofSteel ,other sub folders as well. Remember that this is how Steel Panthers got the best out of itself.ĭo I put the Scenario files just into Folder Scenarios? Let me know if some of you are interested in such a project. I would need people to work on the data part of the units (I hate the XML format) and on the composition of the scenarios. I can easily create all the chits you can imagine, a bit more difficult for the maps. Jcrohio, congratulations for your undeniable improvement of this little gem of a tactical computer wargame. Hello to all those who still play this game.
